LeapFish, the only online search portal to deliver the best of the web in a click-free search, today announced the re-launch of its popular free domain name appraisal service at LeapFish.com. Due to high consumer and fan demand, the search engine has revamped the domain appraisal system and released a far more attractive version to users. "The new domain appraisal service utilizes a complex proprietary valuation algorithm that considers length, traffic, age, link popularity and many other factors," said Behzad Behrouzi, Director of Product for LeapFish.com. "As a result, the new service is far more accurate then the previous version that was offered years ago." The domain name appraisal service is initiated through the search engine's existing search field and returns instantaneous valuation results. Users are able to learn more about each valuation by clicking on the valuation dollar figure in LeapFish's right hand side results set. "We've received a tremendous number of requests to bring back the domain appraisal system and so we did," said Ben Behrouzi, CEO of LeapFish. "Our robust valuation engine will kick in anytime someone enters in a domain name in the search engine's search field."

The chairman RObert Friedman announced today that their company REDCacquired the domain name, auction.com, for US$1.7 million. “I’ve wanted this domain for years and I’m thrilled that we were able to acquire this coveted top level domain,” Friedman says. “REDC is without question the number one real estate auctioneer in America and quite likely the world. This is a domain we should have had from the beginning and I’m thrilled we are finally Auction.com.” Currently REDC’s consumer website for Lender Foreclosed home auctions, is www.USHomeAuction.com but the company is in the process of making the conversion to www.Auction.com exclusively. “Only REDC, with our large marketing campaigns, can maximize the benefit of this domain,” Friedman adds. Potentially, Auction.com can be the main portal for real estate auctions in the USA, he says. This is the second highest domain sales of year 2009. |

A new Mozilla Firefox extension has been developed to keep internet users away from visiting parked domains. The new extension named Duck Duck go Toolbar will block over 50 million parked websites which is the main revenue source for many domainers. It is listed for download at ivegotafang, com. This extension will notify users who download the toolbar whenever they land on a parked domain and lets them choose to go back, proceed anyway, or search for something else. For example- If you are going for youutbe.com, it will ask you 'Do you mean Youtube.com?' instead of loading youutbe.com. A domainer of namepros commented "It will bring the huge loss for me as I have over 600 domains parked generating revenue over $1000 each month." |
Telnic claimed to have achieved a milestone in the delivery of a new Internet service, with tens of thousands of .tel domains going live to create what it said was "the world's first global directory.
"This is a momentous day for the company as eight years of development has come to fruition," said Henri Asseily, CTO and chief strategist at Telnic. "We're delighted to be delivering something that will push the boundaries of communications and the internet to the next level, putting the power back into the hands of the individual when it comes to using and sharing contact information."
Telnic claims that "Businesses and individuals are now logging into their own .tel domains, enabling them to store contact information, keywords and location information, which is then published to the internet quickly and securely without needing to build a website." |
